Whitchurch Citizen of the Year 2015 – Mayor’s Award
The search is on for the Whitchurch “Citizen of the Year”. In conjunction with the Mayor’s Trust Fund for Whitchurch and Whitchurch Chamber of Trade, the award looks to honour people who have contributed to the local community during the year.
It’s our chance to say thank you to the army of unsung heroes and heroines.
Nominations are invited in two categories:
- Whitchurch Citizen of the Year (Adult)
- Whitchurch Young Citizen of the Year
Nominations can be made by downloading and completing the nomination form below – hard copy nomination forms are also available from Whitchurch Civic Centre .
Whitchurch Mayor, Mike McDonald, who has introduced the Awards, said:
There are many individuals working tirelessly in our community day in, day out – and they do so without any desire for recognition or reward.
That’s why we are appealing for residents of Whitchurch to nominate their “Citizen of the Year” – so that we may say thank you to them on behalf of our town.
Deadline for nominations is Friday 13th November 2015.
The winner in each category (judged by the Mayor), will be invited to a reception at the Civic Centre to receive their Award and be invited to participate in the Christmas Lights Switch-on on Saturday 28th November.
The Mayor’s Trust Fund for Whitchurch
The Trust Fund was established earlier this year to raise funds to promote the town of Whitchurch, provide better civic facilities or enable the betterment of the lives of the residents of the Town, particularly its young people. Further details of how people can get involved with the Fund can be obtained from the Town Clerk.
